The Gimuy-Walubara Yidinji are the traditional custodians of Cairns and the surrounding district. Gimuy is the traditional place name for the area Cairns City now occupies and we pay our respects to the people of Gimuy-Walubara Yidinji Country on whose land we work and meet. We pay respects to Gimuy-Walubara Yidinji Elders, past, present and emerging, and acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples hold knowledge about health practice and medical treatment which has been practiced for thousands of generations.
