My name’s Jill Matthews and I’ve followed a life-long dream and set up a business with pets. I’ve been a pet lover ever since I was a small child. I have been taking care of pets for years, both my own and other peoples’ when they are away on holiday.
Originally from a small, farming community in Devon Uk, I’ve lived and worked in Africa, the USA and Australia. Life has always revolved around the animals that I’ve taken care of. It seemed a natural part of my journey to groom dogs and teach other people how to care for and groom their pets.
I have lived in Cairns, Australia for over 30 years now and opened up my grooming business Smooch a Pooch Dog Grooming Salon and School in 2010. I’ve enjoyed a long and happy career grooming all the ‘hot’ dogs and cats in Cairns.
I now also offer Dog Grooming Courses. I really wanted to use my teaching and grooming skills to help people take better care of their pets, or to help passionate pet lovers to make a living in the Pet Industry as a Groomer. You can attend a 4-Day Hands-On course in Cairns or Brisbane.
